Head of the TWESCO awarded a young scholar


Within the framework of the 7th International Symposium on Altai Peoples held in the capital of Mongolia, the city of Ulaanbaatar, head of the Academy Darkhan Kydyrali has awarded a Silver Medal of the Academy to a young scholar Altangerel Enkhtor, who is conducting archaeological excavations at the Shiveet Ulaan complex.

The head of the TWESCO highly appreciated the excavations works at the ancient Turkic complex conducted by Altangerel Enhthor, archeologist, chief researcher of the Mongolian Institute of History and Archeology. He also noted that the Silver Medal of the Academy was established for appreciation of contribution of young scientists.

Recall that in 2016 TWESCO jointly with the Institute of History and Archeology at the National Academy of Sciences of Mongolia started archaeological excavations at the ancient Turkic memorial complex of Shiveet Ulaan in Mongolia. These excavations will be completed this year. According to preliminary data, a number of monuments have been found in the memorial complex. Particularly, sculptures of lions and rams, symbolic stone, human stone sculpture, noble man's head and body made of stone, as well as other objects were found at Shiveet Ulaan.
